Back to the Jungfraujoch, Pt III

OK – I know we said 2 trips up here was enough – but 26th brought stormy weather , didn’t look good for usual walks, and we thought it might be exciting up at 3500m .

Well, it certainly deterred the crowds. As we joined the Jungfraujoch train , we only saw 10 people with pre-booked places get on, then us . It was chocka last time.

Up at the top, the weather was fairly clear at first so we headed outside.  But the walking track that had been open before was now closed, and they soon shut both outdoor areas for fear of lightning strikes .

X marks the closed areas ( no refunds)

Despite that, we saw some more truly bling stuff inside , before the swirling clouds suggested we’d better head back home.

I noticed less effect from altitude sickness than 2 weeks before, so must be acclimatising.

That Lindt chocolate shop was great – they handed you a free Lindor chocolate ball just for walking into it.   I was all for going out and in a few times in disguise, but L thought this might not work. Not sure how much actual business they did at these prices. (Lindor is £3.56 per 100g in Morrisons, I’ve just checked, so the ‘ now you’re a captive audience in a snowstorm” option works out 60% more expensive. And that’s a fact.  )
