The Grand Trip begins tomorrow morning, when we collect the van up at the airport and head down to Harwich – ferry goes early on Monday. Bit weird to know we won’t be back for 7 or 8 weeks .. unless Events Occur, I suppose. I imagine the new PM will have everything sorted out long before our return. Not knowing exactly where we are going after Holland makes packing interesting. The general idea is to head through Germany, maybe into Austria, Switzerland , and back up through France ….though there’s a school of thought pushing an Austro-Slovenian side trip … We just can’t tell at this stage ! Foreign gas supplies and Kendal Mint Cake rations will probably be the range-limiting factors, and we are relying on Paul to make regular deliveries of KMC and our friends in Belgium to sort out compatible gas cylinders Grateful to Joe and Tess for offering to keep an eye on the home front, Off we go !
Sounds like a fine adventure. We can recommend St Anton for a day or two and some summer Alpine walking.
