I didn’t anticipate the absolute social media frenzy which this Antwerp station topic would generate. The postbag was literally bulging with a letter from Mrs Trellis of Lime Avenue, who writes ” I was awed by the Central Station when I visited. At that time they had plans for an amazing subterranean level but your blog doesn’t mention this transportational highlight?” Well, Mrs T, you are on the ball as ever : in fact this does now exist and allows the Thalys direct high speed train from Brussel to Amsterdam to whizz through, without having to reverse back out of what was originally a one way in/out station .
Any more public-transport-related queries ?

Antwerp looks so beautiful! Thank god the council ran out of money! I hope demolition is completely off the agenda!
The older parts are lovely. Yes, I think they have now realised it’s worth preserving
Good to know!
