After the widespread outcry of indifference that greeted our long absence from these pages – we’re back !
Yes, the classic PushMe/PullYou combo of Skoda and Basecamp is off for more fun, frolics and tortuous puns on foreign road signs.

Today we loaded up The Van & drove down to our usual start grid, a quiet field outside Bradfield ( Essex). That positions us well for the Stena ferry “lucky dip ” boarding process at Harwich at crack of dawn .
Stena must have looked at the merits of a ” first on / first off ” system many years ago, discarded it as ridiculously over-complicated or outdated, and now offer the excitement of an entirely random sequencing : all the fun of the unfair prioritisation ! So it might take us anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour to get going once we dock at Hoek van Holland ….place your bets, please ! Nearest guess gets a special “Bits Dropping Off” limited edition T-shirt . Voting closes at 17:00 BST tomorrow.

27 minutes, 36 seconds.

Happy vanning ! Here’s hoping for a reasonable no more than 30 mins! We’ll be experiencing the Stena Special later in the summer when we head to Den Haag for a wedding
I trust the T-shirt will have only one arm hole.
