This is a special bonus post, for any ” Bits Dropping Off ” nerds who might be intrigued by recent talk of fridge issues. Admittedly, it’s a niche audience, but we like to make everyone welcome in the broad church of BDO.
Owing to the rich variety of ways our advanced Smart Fridge can fail, we generated this handy checklist to keep in the van.
It’s basically a modern day I-Spy Book , with points for each combo you spot. Or for the younger generation, a cartoon-free version of Pokèmon ( it does feel as if we have to catch them all sometimes).
A W10 is kids stuff, and an E50 is easy to create (every time a new gas bottle is attached). And E03 pops up a lot if you’re the sort of incompetent DIY tinkerer who shorts out control panels by bodging a solar charger installation. But this week it was a new entry into the chart for E51, followed by an infinite succession of that old favourite, E12. It’s particularly impressive that Gas-related errors continue to occur even with the energy source switched to 240v electric.
I’m sure Mrs Trellis, or perhaps other readers , have some personal favourite error messages and/or amusing refrigeration-related anecdotes to recount ?

That’s very perceptive Steve – I was recently reading about DMC and quite fancy joining – only FB is too ‘interesting’ for me. I had a collection of air sickness bags in my 20s, which I saw was one of their items too ( I was going to say… “One if their interest areas”, but I guess that’s a contradiction in terms). Now, if they were to start an obscure blog….
