On Sunday morning our coveted pitch came free very early, so we rapidly took possession and got an electricity supply to sort the fridge out. Pretty fab views too…
To celebrate, we took a train up to Wengen and found a walk up to the top station of Kleine Scheidegg.
But the views along the way and at the top station were spectacular – well worth a 3hr walk / 800m ascent , I’d say.
These places are all really developed as ski resorts, but I’d say they work as well or better in the summer. The ski runs do not look as connected or numerous as those in eg the French ” 3 Valleys”, but the Swiss chalet architecture and amazing alpine backdrops are more picturesque.
