Despite the Belgians closing no less than 5 roads / junctions we were aiming to use , without warning, we did eventually make it to the family base in Chaam, Holland on Monday 1st July .

Caravan is now set up on the front drive of Lianne’s brother Henk, which means we can dump most of our stuff in his garage and have a more spacious existence in the van and car. The build up of ingrained campsite detritus in the car is only apparent once you take everything out , but I’m hoping that loading it up again will conceal the worst of it. That’s got to be a better solution than actually cleaning it, anyway.
Henk is a strawberry farmer. He employs a few Romanians , who he invited to watch the NL vs Romania game with a BBQ on Tuesday. They took the result in good heart, and a fair bit of shirt swapping went on

Meanwhile, the guitar is a big hit with the next generation –

The kids are coming out to join us for the weekend, after voting on Thursday morning – so we can celebrate a seismic change ( surely, it has to end, doesn’t it ??)
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Enjoy the family reunion!
