A serious case of BDO ( Bilateral Disintegration of Openings) has appeared.
For a few years now, cracks have been appearing around the catches that secure the side windows of The Van. Probably resulting from a combination of expansion stresses in the heat, pressure from pulling the windows closed, and of course cheapo manufacturing. Initially just on the inside of the double pane, recently on outer too.
As we checked everything before departure this morning, I found a jagged lump of plastic lying on the ledge, and there’s a hole just below the catch.
It’s now only a matter of time before the whole thing disintegrates.
Let’s hope we get home before it happens.
