Since last night (Monday 24th – Happy Birthday Max, by the way 😊) we’ve been installed at an incredibly peaceful site called Le Petit Papillon , in the southeast of the Morvan national park. Only 5 places, and we are next to a wonderfully idiosyncratic converted fire engine, from Maastricht.
Took a very roundabout cycle trip to ” the shops” ( an épicerie a few miles away, full of workmen tanking up on Trappist beers at 10:30am, ready for a good day’s construction ) – it’s pleasant scenery , if not on a par with the Alps. Lots of local forestry / pine logging seems to be main industry.
Tried a swim in the cosy 3m diameter pool on site, which was refreshing but only inspired Lianne to try for something more challenging
