Wainwright / Spouse Wrong

Drive off to the Western Lakes today, planning  some hill walking from our guide to the Wainwright peaks. The 3hour journey provided an ideal opportunity to enjoy quality time exchanging views and information with my beloved TLL

So successful, indeed, that after about 19 minutes of it, she requested I write a comprehensive blog post on these topics, so she never has to hear another word about them. Topics such as

1. The impact of wind speed, direction, and gustiness on petrol consumption while towing a van ( SHOW WORKING in excruciating detail )
2. Coning off half the lanes of a dual carriageway for several miles and imposing a 40mph speed limit, just for a giggle. Would it be better to apply this approach to areas which have some sign of active road improvements, and when there are some workers available to do them ? Or in smaller sections perhaps ? DISCUSS (at length, and with emotive examples)
3. Other drivers – I mean, REALLY ?
4. Methods to calculate the likely ROI ( return on investment) of various approaches to dealing with a failing van fridge , namely –
   • replacing the whole thing at vast expense, ( three times the cost of a larger domestic fridge freezer)
   • fixing just the failed components ( PCB, ignition system) at a smaller absolute cost,  but relatively more extortionate rate, and with no guarantee that it will be any better anyway
   • OR ignoring it , hoping the mains supply option doesn’t give up too, and never using gas again , EVER

But, as I pointed out, that’s hardly going to make for a rivetting read, now, is it ?

While I was studying this, to work out the suggested alternative route, the afore-mentionned TLL had already sprung over the fenced-off access to the path and was yomping into the distance. I just hope King Charles III never finds out ….

Total landslips observed : zero.  Though oddly, the Strava app seemed th think we had already fallen into the sea

So that’s another topic we could add to the list above , but, you know … ..bovvered ?
